This Seminar will be divided into 2 sessions:

Session 1 – 9:30am-10:45am
This session will focus on ways to make your Intranet successful by looking at global award winning Intranet examples, and demonstrating key functions in SharePoint.
We will cover:

• Review the key success factors for Intranets, with a focus on User Adoption
• Review award winning Intranets, and explore the concept of user-centric and search centric designs
• Demonstrate Enterprise Social Collaboration and discuss why it is the hottest trend in Intranets at the moment
• Demonstrate the integration between SharePoint and Lync for extreme user collaboration.
• See the world’s most powerful Enterprise search engine in action!

We will demonstrate how to make your Intranet unique and successful by reviewing why the award winning examples worked so well, and challenge the approach of traditional intranets and portals. We will explore and demonstrate integration with Microsoft Lync for Instant Messaging and video conferencing, as well as desktop sharing for much improved document collaboration and review.  Also hear from Microsoft about the current technology stack and capabilities, and what is coming up in the future.

Session 2 – 11:00am-12:00pm
This session will focus on Information Management within SharePoint 2010, and we will review real-world Information Architecture examples that have both failed and succeeded.
We will cover:

• The other key success factors for SharePoint projects… Governance, Change Management and Information Architecture
• What  is Information Architecture (IA), what is a bad example of an IA, and what is a good example
• Demonstrate key document management functions
• How should customers plan transition from shared drives to a document management platform
• How to approach a SharePoint project of any type, and what effort is involved
